EnSave programme at compressor factories in Germany and Slovakia

Danfoss’ compressor factories in Germany and Slovakia have started energy-saving projects with Danfoss Solutions’ EnSave programme and expect to reduce the CO2 emission by 7,000 tonnes annually. This equals approximately 5% of the Danfoss Group’s total CO2 emissions.
The compressor factory in Flensburg introduced energy savings several years ago through the optimisation of the lighting and compressed air supply in the production areas, among other things. A recently prepared analysis shows that a potential exists for annual energy savings of around 580,000 euros. A wide range of ideas for how to obtain savings have emerged from the creative workshops which the employees took part in. All areas record the consumption and set targets for electricity and heat savings. In addition, central measures have been initiated to regulate and optimise the supply of heat, light, compressed air and cold water in the premises.

By the end of 2008, the effects of the first savings will become apparent.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy work-ing environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
